A Trip to the Fire Station

Our Mom's Club and all the kiddos at the Fire
Station

Station.

it and won't let go of Valerie.

On Wednesday, my Mom's Club went to our local fire station for a tour. The kids were so excited. We went to this station when Abby was 2 and Jack was just a baby, but they didn't remember it. The fire fighters there are so great and so patient with the kids. Abby loves the fact that they have a "lady fireman". They got to see where they all slept in murphy beds and they set off the siren that wakes them up when they sleep. Then, they watched the chief suit up for a call...they wanted to show the kids that they don't have to be afraid when they have all their gear and their masks on. To prove it, the chief danced around and sang his ABC's. Jack was not afraid in the least...he ran up and gave him a big hug. They showed them the fire truck and let them crawl inside. Abby even got to hold the lever to raise the ladders on the truck. They were excited to see the ambulance, since that is what Uncle Charlie works on. They had a great time and are eager to go back in October when the fire station is having an open house and bringing in the helicopters!
