Train ride!

Jack loves the train!

This is the kids' favorite ride...can you tell?

Jack climbed in a boat with this little girl...he is making his move already...scary!

Jack is doing some serious negotiating with Auntie Adie and I!

The North Pole made of ice...it doesn't even melt in the summer!

Jack found the shooting range, of course!

Playing at the North Pole can wear a guy out!

We have a tradition going in our family and it is mostly just for Mom's sanity :) The kids get a birthday party with their friends every other year. On the off year, they get to pick somewhere fun to go as a family. Up until now, Abby's off years have always fallen when we are taking a trip to California so naturally, she has chosen Disneyland as her "fun place to go". This is the first year that it didn't happen that way so she had to come up with somewhere else to go.

She chose the North Pole, which is a small amusement park on the way to Pikes Peak. I have taken the kids there several times but this was a new experience for Dad, Papa, Yuyu and Auntie Adie. Jack was thrilled because this was the first year that he was tall enough to ride the cars without anyone with him...next thing we know, it will be a driver's license! We also noticed that this was probably the last year that Abby would be allowed on some of the rides as they have a height limit and she was barely below some of the limits :(

The kids had a great day showing Dad, Papa, Yuyu and Auntie Adie, all of their favorite spots at the North Pole. Jack even got Dad to go on a circular roller coaster that made me sick just to watch! And Abby got Dad to ride the candy cane slide with her...it is clearly not meant for people that are six feet tall! That's what Dads are for! :)
